WHY SVARTKROG EXISTS
Svartkrog Black Metal Radio was created because I was looking for exactly this kind of platform and could not find it.
I discovered countless small Black Metal bands and solo projects creating strong music, but many of them had little or no platform to reach new listeners.
Svartkrog was built to change that — to give underground artists a place to be heard, to discover new music and to support projects beyond the mainstream.
THE IDEA
Svartkrog is not built around trends, algorithms or numbers.
The focus is on the music, the artists and the underground itself.
The radio broadcasts Black Metal 24/7 and also creates interviews, talks and festival coverage to preserve conversations and moments from the scene.
FROM RADIO TO THE FIELD
Since its launch, Svartkrog has grown beyond the radio itself.
In 2026, Svartkrog Black Metal Radio was officially accredited as Press & Media at Summer Breeze Open Air, covering the festival through interviews, conversations and independent reporting.
This brought Svartkrog into direct contact with bands, artists and representatives from the metal scene. During Summer Breeze 2026, Svartkrog also worked with Season of Mist’s press team to arrange interviews with artists from their roster.
These experiences became another part of what Svartkrog stands for — documenting the underground, preserving conversations and giving artists a platform beyond the stage.
Svartkrog remains an independent underground project. The goal is not to become part of the mainstream, but to create a place where underground Black Metal can be heard, documented and preserved.
SUPPORTING THE UNDERGROUND
Svartkrog remains focused on what it was created for: supporting underground Black Metal and giving independent artists a place to be heard.
No pay-to-play. No guaranteed airplay. No focus on trends or numbers.
The music comes first.
